A Kiss in the Dreamhouse (1982) è un album, a mio parere, caratterizzato da una profonda malinconia.
Il malessere e la tristezza vengono alternati a sperimentazioni sonori ma la voce tragica e dolente, tra gocce di lacrime (la stupenda e arcana Cascade, a mio parere uno tra i più bei pezzi Oscuri di sempre).
Adesso la Nostra Siouxsie potrà piacere o meno, ma indubbiamente nella sua giovinezza ha incarnato alla perfezione e impeccabilmente la Diva Oscura per eccellenza:
tormentata e misterica (da notare come invece altre Eroine e Muse Post Punk, anche quelle più tombali, abbiano sempre mostrato voci più taglienti, ruvide, dissolute, o nauseate)
Green Fingers è ricca di tribalismi, mentre Obsession, minimalista e minimale, rende protagonista ancora una volta la voce di Siouxsie che svetta tra sospiri e recitati che si spengono in echi morganici.
She’s A Carnival più legata alle sonorità Post Punk, ritmica e incalzante, mentre Circle e Painted Bird rappresentano un’esperimento un pò atipico, in parallelo con un cd -un pò deludente- come Peepshow.
Melt! riprende la malinconia dolente (sublime le vocals) e Cocoon cala i Nostri in improvvisazioni Jazz schizofreniche (notevoli le vocals spettrali)
Chiude il cd Slowdive, troppo scanzonata a mio parere.
Un cd dall’aura curata e sofisticata che insieme a Kaleidoscope (1980) e JuJu ( 1981) è un cd che caratterizza l’Era misterica e oscura dei Banshees.
